September 7, 2008 = Goodbye, Love!
Rent had a very special place in the heart of Broadway and on Septemeber 7, 2008 it left that place . In honor of the show I created this page and have embedded a really nice slide show I found -- this podcast began as a Rent centered podcast (the former title being Shoot Without A Script) and never would have began had it not been for my seeing the show -- So goodbye Rent and thank you for changing my life forever --
We did not do a Rent episode, because I couldn't get the interviews and no one sent in stories -- however you can find some great articles on the closing here:

I will be leaving this page up, as is (with possibile updates), until January 1, 2009 -- So enjoy while you can!

The following is an excerpt I received in an e-mail from the Life Cafe--
We welcome any and all RENTheads to bring your ticket stub from any theater you see the movie at and get a free “FOREVER JONATHAN” or “LIFE CAFÉ” poster with a $10 purchase. Come and enjoy a visit to see where some of RENT's earliest moments of inspiration happened. Offer good until New Year's Eve of this year!
I’ve always been so proud of having created a place where anyone and everyone has been made to feel welcome...and enjoy a hot or cold drink, a great meal...and a lot of fellowship..... I was so lucky that Jonathan Larson as a young and energetic force in the music and theater world found comfort and inspiration at Life Cafe in those days, too. When Jonathan unleashed RENT on the world 14 years ago, I was amazed by the show -- and equally thrilled and also humbled to have been lucky enough to have the inspirational closing number at the end of the first act actually staged at Life Cafe...! The song "La Vie Boheme” and the spirit of the full cast singing it is a moment that still makes me nearly fall out of my seat when I’ve seen it on Broadway -- and again last night in a movie theater! We were truly blessed to have Jonathan come into our lives and to now always have RENT as a very warm part of our lore....
We look forward to seeing you at Life Cafe anytime you’re in New York City at 10th Street and Avenue B in the EastVillage. We have RENT photos and memories on a special RENT wall above the Jonathan Larson Bench that we dedicated, with the help of Jonathan's sister Julie and his Dad, Al Larson, a few weeks ago during RENT's Finale weekend on Broadway.
Be immortalized...! Make an entry in the RENThead Registers. Learn more at http://www.lifecafe.com/rent_pilgram.shtml Say good-bye to RENT on Broadway and communicate with your fellow fans and the world through The RENThead Registers which will always be available and will always be here at Life.
So, while the amazing 12 year run of RENT on Broadway has come to a close...for now....know that the spirit of RENT will continue to burn brightly at Life Café.
Thank you Jonathan Larson....! La Vie Boheme...! And remember, Life is worth loving.
